As a storyteller at heart, I seek truth through the lens of my camera, not just as a photographer but as an observer of life’s unguarded moments. My journey into photography didn’t start with a grand revelation; it began in a time of personal turmoil when a friend handed me his camera and simply said, “Give it a try.” What started as an escape quickly transformed into my deepest passion and a sanctuary for my soul.
The gritty, pulsating energy of punk and hardcore scenes were my initial muses. In the raw, unfiltered ambiance of these settings, I found my voice and a style that captures authenticity and rawness in every frame. These early experiences deeply ingrained an approach to photography that I carry with me—whether shooting weddings, portraits, or in the realm of sports.
My enduring love for music and subcultures remains a cornerstone of my work. The challenge of capturing a musician’s essence or the spirit of a movement, without compromising the integrity of the moment, drives me. Sports, particularly cycling and running, captivate me with their raw, unadulterated emotions and energy, even though I’m not a runner myself. These fields reflect the genuineness I seek in every shot.
In my craft, I strive for simplicity and intimacy. Less is more—I prefer working with minimal equipment to forge a direct connection between the subject and my camera. This approach allows me to capture honest emotions and the beauty of the real, unvarnished and unembellished.
To me, photography is like breathing—essential and uplifting. It has not only helped me find inner peace but also to view the world and the people around me with greater clarity and empathy. In each image, I search for truth, for the unguarded expression of life in all its facets.
